Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-14

AP Field Guide (the "Service") is a free hobby project that helps WiFi engineers identify wireless access points from photos. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service uses AI-assisted image matching to suggest the likely make and model of a wireless access point from a photo. Identifications are best-effort suggestions, not guaranteed facts. Do not rely on them for safety-critical, contractual, or professional decisions without independent verification.

2. Accounts

3. Content you submit

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

The Service applies rate limits and other protections. We may suspend or remove accounts or content that violate these Terms.

5. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. AI-generated identifications and field-guide content may be incomplete or wrong.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service. The Service is free; the operator's total liability for any claim is limited to USD $0.

7. Service changes and availability

This is a hobby project. Features may change, and the Service may be modified, paused, or discontinued at any time without notice. We don't guarantee that data will be retained indefinitely.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service changes. Material changes will be announced on the home screen. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
